Saving money use an airer.

Do you line dry your clothes or use an airer in the bad weather? Or do you just stick your clothes in the drier?
I have a tumbler drier but try to avoid using it at all costs;

It it too expensive to run tumble driers are one of the most energy greedy appliances (as does most appliances that have to heat up) that we could have in our homes, using a drier even just one a week it will cost around £31 a year, you times that each time you use the drier in a week and calculate that over a whole year and people who run driers all the time wonder why their bills are so high.

Have you seen the amount of lint that is in a drier filter? That is bits of your clothes a drier will wear out your clothes far quicker where as a washing line or airer wont.

If you have a stain on your clothes and you stick that in the drier forget about getting that stain out now, the heat from the drier has more than likely set it in for good, take drying clothes on the line the sun should bleach that stain right out, I don't mean big stains from a bowl of tomato but your more likely to get that stain out than if it has been though the drier.

A drier can alter the shape of clothes, make them shrink some what twist the fabric out of shape

Ok clothes airer around the house might not look as tidy as clothes been chucked around your tumble and they will far quick in the than the on the airer, I turn the clothes around on the airer so both sides get dried thoroughly usually clothes on the airer are dry with in 24 hours

If you are still a die hard tumbler here's a few tips that might help
Partly dry clothes in the tumbler and then hang them on the airer, ot do it the other way round.
Dry more than one load while the drier is still warm
And above all make sure to clean filter often, this will not only help it work better and it lowers the small risk of a drier fire
